Good morning daily

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I reckon the river level is gunna go up for a while, before it thinks about going down. How will Bruce and Brian get on at the marina, flood wise?
Take care everybody, stay safe and dry.
Bruce and Brian reckon it will be a while before the water comes up high enough to come in the doors ;) Brian is fine, he has solar and batteries and doesn't plug into the grid now, so it won't worry him if the water level reaches the point where they cut the power off. Bruce has a generator and a speed boat, so he can travel on the river to get fuel and supplies.
There is a bottle shop in the IGA just down the road from the workshop, so I reckon I'll be ok for a while 8-) If the water gets up high enough to cause a problem at the IGA and that bottle shop, being able to get a drink will be last of our worries, the water will be over the roof of the house by that stage and running down the big hill into Adelaide :o

I was thinking more like, if the river gets that high and floats them off their moorings. That's what caused so much damage up here earlier this year. The jetties and docks just got washed downstream, houseboats, speedboats and any tinnies attached to the structure either sunk or got washed out into the bay. Made for good tv, but not a great result for the owners.

The jetty poles are very deep into the ground, they might need extensions if the water gets that high, but I think that would be greater than the '56 flood levels and everything in Mannum is build with that in mind, the living area must be above the '56 flood level .... I wonder what they do with the ferries if the water gets that high, the cables at each end would be about 6 mtrs under water .....

The river is starting to lap under the Mannum board walk and the orange poles are there waiting to be deployed to close it off if it goes under, it did the last time the river came up.

I hope the Mannum Council is smarter the the clowns at Brisvegas. They didn't have a proper plan up here. They just left all the Rivercats and ferries at their normal overnight berths and a lot were damaged by tree, jetties and other crap that came floating down the river. I don't know what they do with the cable ferries. Anyone have a clue?

Morning all.
Yesterday a bit quieter than the one before, I did use my chainsaw to cut the tree next door and get it out of their driveway. Mongral council truck and loader through the district but wouldn't take the tree away,,,said because it was inside the property...grubs
The other next door lost the wirlygig thingy from his roof, and a tree still across my fence.
How did you go with that storm yesterday arvo Bob ?
Keep safe everyone.
Bernie.

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful sunny morning here on the GC. No rain yesty, all the storms missed us.
Had a new alternator fitted to the Winny, not a cheap exercise. We will start packing now for a journey south. Mowed the front grass, will do the yard today.
How did bowls go Shirley?
Happy hump day everybody, have a lovely day if you can.

Good morning All. 22* and 27* forecast. I may have to do some mowing later once the grass dries. I am starting to miss Julie now that she has been away for 2 months and am looking forward to catching up with her mid next month.

How much did the alternator cost Dave? Could have put the money towards an electric assist that would have been a starter motor, regen braking assist and launch from the stop lights assist as well as the electrics generator set ..... that is what the new Ram trucks have, saw one here a few weeks back .... might have been a few mths actually, the 48v battery lives under the rear seat .....
