Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Glad to see G'man is back in your den Dot. Hope the cat fun eventuates for you, or it will be a waste of all that planning. ;) ;) xxxx

As Shirley said, there has been constant drizzly rain all day and it's flaming cold. The grass in our backyard is already saturated, so pulling the van out would have made a bit of a mess of his precious grass.

We are glad that we cancelled the weekend. When I rang the park to cancel, they told me that as there was no 48hours warning, we would probably not get our deposit back. It was $50, so that was a bit annoying. Today, there was an email from the park offering me a credit for their chain for well over $200. I suspect this was a combination of other members deposits and they had been sent to my name by error. I did return the email with the receipt number for my deposit and suggested they contact the organiser of the event. What a strange park accounting system. Tomorrow will tell.

During some of the lightest rain, I wandered down the road to a protest rally. It was organised by an environmental mob to share the information about the upcoming EPA lawsuit against Delta electricity over the two fish kill events last year. We held up banners that were provided that said Delta was murdering our fish and ruining our lake (something along that thought). Lots of photos were taken, but don't expect to see them anywhere that we might frequent (like Sydney Morning Herald).

The kiln is not in use Dot. I am hoping to get somethings done soon, but they are mainly repairs to splat bowls that lost a few legs on the last trip. Good hired help is so hard to find!

Bowls in my locker at the club Dot, no tender loving care or polishing, probably play next Thursday weather permitting, Tuesday I’m off to lunch with my old tennis mates, known most of them over forty years, it’s great catching up with them, a few of them do play bowls now too so see them at gala days & pennant days.

Tonight Mr B decided to give me something to do, he got the shakes and shivers pretty bad, his BP was way out of the ball park 224/202 p 100. 10mins later bp 184/138 p96 temp 37.5 pa(under his arm) = 37.7 oral. 10mins later 182/102 p89 t 38.5 pa = 38.7. 10mins 154/69 p 71 t? 15mins bp 143/65 p71 t 38.5 o. 2200hrs bp 126/61 p 76 t 38.2 o. He has requested some more yoghurt  I have also done a few bits of toast if he gets the nibbles again. Thinking he may have a bit of an infection, if temp stays up it's off to Mt Barker. We caught a cat last night, not next doors cat but one of the lady's down the back. right up near the birds. It got let out with a water send off. Reset the trap see if anything tonight. Off to bed now so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Vic 351 x :D

Fingers crossed for the G'man Dot. Sounds like it could be nasty and at least he has someone who knows best, to look after him xxxx

Shirley is not exaggerating about the water. Today we had over two inches and rising. Our jetty is already under water, so we expect to see the bottom of our block under a couple of inches by morning. It is also cold, which makes us wonder if we should still plan a trip up in Queensland for the worst of winter. I will probably regret cancelling our usual getaway, but I have managed to snare some crystals and loopy peoples markets to give me possibly more events and all much closer to home. Next weekend at Wallsend is a longish drive, but reasonable to stay at home and do the hour to get there each day. I haven't timed it yet, I do hope that the suggested hour is not going to be that long.

I did wander down to my shed in a short dry-ish spell. I managed to save one splat bowl by grinding and re-shaping some of the rough edges with my diamond wheel on the dremel. The other splat that has lost two legs, needed a bit more work. It's being flattened out tonight, so that tomorrow I can re-fuse the missing legs back on. Luckily those bits were saved and are usable. I may have had trouble matching the glass otherwise.

Stay dry and safe on the roads

How's George faring Dot? xxxx

Today the weather was sunny and dry, who would have thought that would happen? We certainly didn't. His lordship checked the gauge for over night and found we had 3 & 1/2 inches and yes he did empty it yesterday afternoon. No wonder the grass is so sodden that we sink quite a distance into it. Might have to stick to the paths for a while. It was very heavy for a lot of last night, but no damage is good news.

I did a lot of shed work today. Firstly I have three repairs all needing a very hot, slow fusing. They are in the old square kiln tonight. It can hold three shelves on top of each other. It's elements are around the sides. The new kiln will only take one of these items at a time, the elements are on top, so no extra shelf height.

I then got started on all of the boxes of scrap glass from the lady in Armidale. I was amazed to find that three of the boxes were all full of white glass. I guess that there will be a lot of white extra bits on things for a while. Two of the boxes had lots of very fine squiggly bits and some weird lumpy shapes. They are all in bottles now. That still leaves me with 5 boxes on the floor, yet to be found homes for. At least she had the smarts to stash her scraps in boxes of the same colours. I am still thinking about best way to stash this lot, so it's off the floor and still easily accessible.

Been a very long 24 /48hrs. Missed last night goodnights as we were at the hosp from 5pm until 0330 hrs I took G to the hosp as he was peeing blood and his temp was still rising. Long story short sat for bloody hrs finally got bloods done and a pee test (again) the retard Dr did not believe the results of the white cell reading as they were sky high as well as the BP reading I took so he ran them again and woo hoo way way up. 1v a/bs given along with more pills to bring temp down had to sit and wait till temp was down to below 37 deg as illegal to discharge with a temp higher than normal George could not wake me this morning so he went back over there on his own for more sitting around and another dose of AB's and more tests. The Dr rang the specialist to ask if she should do a CT to check wound but he said no and he will ring G tomorrow. I believe G contracted an infection while in surgery and I will be making that very clear tomorrow. Go into hosp with no temp and no blood in pee then when comes home 24hrs post op you have a raging temp and blood in your . hmmmm Anyway he is home again had his tea and now awaiting his pudding. Nothing stops him eating. Hope everyone is doing well we are off to bed very early tonight as we are still buggered. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight NP x :D

Geeze, Dot, you and George have had a real horrible time. I hope you give the surgeon hell, he/she deserve it. With modern sterilization, there is absolutely no excuse for infections in surgery. Good luck tomorrow mate xxxx

Had another kiln day. The three shelves of glass, were all fused properly and lovely and shiny. Tonight, they are getting slumped into various bowl shapes to have them finally finished (I hope). There is always room for some weird thing to happen. The kiln fairy has behaved well lately.

Next was to get back to the sorting through things from Armidale. There are 2foot long tubes of stringers (very fine or a bit thicker, long strips of glass). They were sorted into size of strips and put up on the now full shelf. I then found a couple of margarine tubs full of tiny bits of the stringers. This stuff is so expensive, that I have never considered buying it. To have a couple of dozen tubes of the stuff is very exciting. The tiny, short bits are already in a plan for a plate.

There was a box of frit of all colours in small jars (finely and not so finely crushed glass). This stuff is also too dear for me to have had in my shed. On the rare occasions that I have wanted frit, I have made my own in and old blender. Lots of possibilities running through my head. That filled up another shelf.

While all that was happening, I had a crock pot working it's magic on a big pot of pumpkin soup. Nothing exciting about that but, I had no sour cream to put a big dollop on top of each serve. I found a tub of cream cheese with sweet chilly sauce poured over it (great dip). It was delicious on top of our soup. It may become our essential for next time I make the soups, the sour cream has now become unwanted.

Unbelievable outcome for George, do hope he is on the road to a healthy recovery with no more unexpected complaints, life wasn’t meant to be easy but you certainly didn’t need all those problems.

Signing off early again tonight. G's update for today, his temp is down to just a tad above normal (37.3) BP 166/80 p58 and still a pinkish tinge to P. I rang the GP to see if hosp had sent results to him = NO. Rang the A&E dept they said "can't access that info BUT get your GP to ring the hosp tomorrow for results" WT sure they will do that !! So then put a call into the specialist and requested a call back as he was supposed to call today, 7pm and no call back. Well all I can say is he will be getting a piece of my mind and asking for a discount off his bill for the petrol we have used doing 2 trips to Mt Barker for IV antibiotics. Might even suggest they check their instrument sterilization techniques. Seems all "care" has flown out of the windows these days. No pussy cats trapped last night and will reset it soon. Off to put possums apple and oats out for her supper. Hope everyone is keeping fit and well. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight WayneP x :D

Let me see if I have this correct Dot. You have a possum trap, hopefully to catch a p.i.a. cat, and you are also feeding your resident possum, but not trying to trap it? :D
Let's just hope that Gman comes good real soon.
Cheers
