Because Saigon Village isn't in the boundaries of the Mid Murray Council I'm guessing .....
Councils are run by wanna be politicians who get drunk on the power a uniform and badge gives them ..... right up until that power gets called into question .... we will see what the new yr brings

Just when you think you've seen all the lack of design Winnebago were capable of, you find yet another clanger .....

Discovered the real reason the bottom Winnie step feels spongy and the old steps felt rather worn .... it wasn't wood rot or worn hinge points, the whole assembly hangs off a piece a folded gal sheet that the bin liners are also made from ..... it has simply fractured at the bend and was just waiting for the opportunity to let the bottom step or the folding steps themselves, come crashing to the ground, along with who ever was standing on it at the time

What started out as looking like a day job, is still compounding it seems .....

I'm sure there will be an end to these repairs .... I'm just wondering if I'll still be above the ground by the time the list is completed .....

it has simply fractured at the bend
Could the fracture have been when it hit the tree?

Looks like I may have a similar problem Terry!
The step is now very close to the ground!
Could be something to do with the wheels sinking in mud you think?

No, the step felt weak when we first looked at it and someone had bolted 5mm angle aluminium pieces through what was left using stainless steel bolts .... with stainless nyloc nuts ..... you won't need 3 guesses to come up with what happened when I tried to remove them  The piece of board the used is hollowed out for the bolt heads, for some reason, the bolts are 3" long :?

It does explain why I couldn't seem to get the steps to come out straight, the bolts that held the aluminium angle and the steel frame under the sheet metal the Kwikee steps bolted onto, had slotted their holes in the sheet metal causing the whole assembly to be twisted ....
