Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

"tanks" here mate---
I have to learn about this syncro thing on the battery monitor--more buttons to push I guess.

At the moment I am doing MIG-Welding 002. I have had 2 lessons on how to turn it on (MigWelding 001) and how to turn it off (MigWelding002).
I am now making Jerry Can Holders for the Trailer- 1 on each mudguard, Drop down stands to stabilize the rear of the trailer when it is not coupled to the Sprinter. I can then slide the generator from inside the trailer onto the lowered tail-gate instead of having to lift it out onto the ground. I can also use the tail-gate as a seat or a work bench.

Good thinking #1.
I am also putting a 4" vice on the draw-bar--more welding and big holes for the bolts (Drilling 016), to hold the vice in place. a waterproof cover/tarp (Contact Glue 003) for the trailer cage, holders for 2 spare trailer 14" tires, and a paint job inside of the trailer walls and floor- No lessons on this; just splash the paint on and wait for it to dry.

Keith.

So that's the secret, Keith. And I thought the involvement of a brush was mandatory... :D

"tanks" here--- No brush mate, just pour it on and spread it with a soft cloth. It's only a trailer and as it is behind me most of the time I don't have to look at it. Saves buying a brush. {Budget Barry would appreciate my motives there.]

This is off topic for the Freezer heading, so I think I will start another post on the "Trailer bits and pieces".

FREEZER REPORT:
10:00 hrs ( start recording). WITH FREEZER SET AT (-15 c ) Just right for the Weis Bars. I will take the temp down to a (-18) c setting in a few days time.
running on 240 volt charging the battery bank--- AND RUNNING THE FREEZER THRU THE SUPPLIED TRANSFORMER:-

14,1 volts; 4.1 a/h; 100% battery;nil hours;
1300 hrs: 8.6 a/h; 1500 hrs: 9.2 a/h, 5.7 amps; 1800 hrs: 12.55 volts, 94.5%, 5.5 amps, 11.0 a/h

At present (1900 hrs) the Zantec thingo is reading:
12.49 v, 8 amp, 17 a/h, 91.4%, 10:50 h/m. I will check the battery bank about 2300 hrs. That will give me a 4 hourly reading from the last check.
The above figures do not mean very much to me with my limited knowledge of these Zantec things. As long as the battery bank does not go to low and the freezer keeps on the desired temp' setting I will be happy. Checking the thing, and taking readings every few hours should indicate to me just how long I can run the freezer before I have to start the generator, or how much I can get out of the Solar panel [if the sun shines] in a day.

I have been doing "Trailer Things" during the daytime: like welding, painting, making a waterproof tarp cover for the trailer cage, and also extending the cage height to give me a larger carrying capacity in the trailer; and possibly fit in a Yamaha Jog Motor Scooter.

Keith.
