Go to your local shed or garage builder. A lot of them use a product called Greenstuff insulation. Try this link. It is a lot cheaper than the Solar stuff but not quite as flexible. Rolls up OK and you can overlock edging onto it.

Re: windscreen solar sheeting
welcome to the forum. The idea with the two layers taped together lends itself to adding straps made out the same tape and either magnets around the edges or tapes long enough to shut in the doors for the windscreen or windows if they open on the sides.Outnabout wrote:Good timing. In the process of making some up at the moment but now trying to find suitable little suction cups. Any ideas?

Hi Dirk
I bought the air cell insulation from Mitre 10 not all that expensive, that was 3 years ago.
I cut it to shape and use to wedge it in place but have since placed about 300mm of velcro on each side in about the middle of each windscreen to keep it flat on the windscreen at the top and on one corner because of it curling from rolling it up.
Have seen it doubled and edged with tape and it looks as good as the bought ones.
Regards Geoff

Air Cell retro shield $250 a roll on Gumtree
Air Cell Permifloor (no retro shield) $445 from Bunnings.
Hmmm, not looking promising.

I use air cell insulation in th bus and am putting some in my house roof and some walls to increase it insulation factor, you may find these prices better than the one you linked. Much better and cheaper than sisalation we've found and combined with cellulose fibre insulation bats, make for great house insulation.

Thanks slowhand. This one looks good.

This seller has convenient pickup and different materials and widths.
Now I need to know what width I would need for an Iveco Daily. If I use two layers, I will need about 8 m length. Anyone here help?

Re: windscreen solar sheeting
The above couple of posts look a bit more promising, an upholster adding a stitched tape border and jobs done. Certainly way cheaper than what I have seem elsewhere.

Re: windscreen solar sheeting
I bought mine from this guy he has 2 thicknesses, I used double with duct tape around the edges for the sides, thinner stuff. I used his heavy duty big bubble stuff for the front but the thinner is better, way more ridged (double thickness both types, would recommend the thinner style doubled, works really well and pretty cheap, just used some Velcro strips but also made slightly oversize so they stay in on their own
