Re"Personally I don't think any info should be given out on forums which require an up to date and practicing tradesman to do in the first place.. IMHO"
WOW, THAT would rule out a lot of posters

The whole balls up can be further exasperated in that we must deal with Australian standards yet there is no standard for Australian registration / licencing, each state maintains it's own autonomy and does not recognize interstate licences and does not have to answer directly to anyone other than it,s own licencing board.I believe Aust is the only country where doing your own electrical work is illegal, in many countries it must be inspected by a licenced tradesman before it can be connected but the actual wiring can be done by the owner builder. In Aust it must all be carried out by a licenced electrician, are there fewer electrocution deaths in Aust than any other country? Can the potential licenced tea boy sign off his own work?
Do caravan builders and motorhome builders all employ only licenced electricians to do the wiring?
Yep, that would be nice, but it goes a lot further than just rego/licensing. Have a look at what laws dont apply to certain Australians in regard to fishing and hunting.Dot wrote:Exactly. One country = same laws for one and all
