12 volt ceiling fan

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

As far as using aircon the genny has to be started when not on 240 power, apart from the fact we do not like being "closed in" with everything shut. When we have to have the windows on the western side of the van I have made shades from the heaviest shade cloth which just slide over the wound out windows.
Terry I have made bubble shades to attach to the inside of the windows in winter & it certainly makes for a warmer inside.
If the fan moves the air about that is all you need to get a bit of sleep when it's hot and humid.
Gunna take some getting used to the weather here, I had to find a jumper and jeans today cause it's cold, had the elecy blanket on last night and I reckon it will be on tonight as well. The bubble wrap stuff on the inside when it's cold and outside when it's hot, makes sense, will have to design the attachments so the widow covers can go on either the inside or outside.

Terry inside I use the double sided Velcro. One side stays at window & the other stays on the insulation. Have done the patrol windows with the same. (Sidebacks & back doors)
Been 41 here the past 2 days then 5am this morning 10 degrees- no wonder I was shivering in bed under a sheet only!

Which part do you leave on the window, the woolly bit or the bit with the hard plastic hooks? Would it work using the same idea inside and out? I was thinking of those round plastic stud things with the fold over latch bit.... crap explanation, I'll look for a photo http://www.stayputfasteners.com.au/rang ... Horizontal eyelets in the bubble wrap insulation stuff and these things at the window corners so the sheet covered the window and part od the frame work.

As far as the cold, had the electric blanket on again all last night, never do hat at home, just use it to warm the bed but with 2 of those woven hospital type blankets on with the electric blanket on 2 I was still waking up cold through the night. In the bus just now starting to unpack stuff and the sweat is pouring out of me so I'm sitting in front of the workshop fan to cool off a bit before I tackle any more. Living on the coast you never see these temp swings between day and night, but at least the humidity isn't anything like it is back in Lake Illawarra this time of yr.
