Seventeen years on the road without airbags, just springs and a great ride.

Do Jeeps have air compressors?
As far as the compressor capacity, rego rules say the compressor must be able to fill all air tanks and air bags to 80% of the compressor governor point from zero pressure (drained and air bags fully deflated) within 5 mins, I think the newer ADR regulations have that down to 3 mins. That would require quite a bit more pumping output than the old single cyl compressor that came with the old Bedford and Leyland motors ;) Probably one of those things that were never tested on rego renewal as not all states are as tough as NSW or SA if they decide they don't like the look of you

Yes. Deviating further from the OP's questions, some Grand Cherokees have air suspension. It's referred to as Quadralift, is optional on any model, and standard on Overland and Summit. The usual components including compressor, holding tank, air lines, air springs, etc...

It's somewhat similar to the Land Rover system.

Steve

I recollect them having a "Quadrodrive" or some such diff lock system, the "Quad" part of it generally referring to how many times they needed a shot a the hill. :D

Yeah... I guess that means Quadralift is how many times you end up on the back of a tilt-tray [emoji23]

Cheers,
